Show Them What You’re Made Of – A Deeper Dive into Regional Offerings

On a visit to London a few years ago, a friend gave me a copy of the London Coffee Guide.  Obviously he knew I was quite the coffee aficionado and I made a point of visiting as many of these local coffee houses as I could as I went about exploring the city.

A few years later I noticed in my home town local craft brewers banded together to offer a craft beer passport.  For a small initial fee, craft beer enthusiasts can sample a myriad of local brews at locations all around the city for $2 a pint.  Many cities now have markets or exhibitions showcasing and selling locally manufactured goods (such as ‘one of a kind’ shows) and of course there’s always new and exciting restaurants opening in local culinary scenes.

Resiada Releases Version 1.3

Hot off the heels of  the January launch of Version 1.2 of Resiada, we’ve now released version 1.3 of our room block management software for event planners, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO/CVB) sport organizations and events rights holders.

Here’s a list of the key updates that are part of version 1.3:

Five Steps to Help Banish Attrition

We’ve said before that here at Resiada we’ve come to think of attrition as an ugly monster – one that rears its head when room block bookings aren’t living up to their potential.  It’s a key conceit behind the ongoing development and improvements made to our housing management solution.

5 Ways to Make Attendees Feel Welcome at Your Event

“A good first impression can work wonders.” – J.K. Rowling.

Let’s look at a few ways you can create a great first impression for your attendees, particularly first-timers.  Make them feel welcome and part of the event experience and they’ll be back again, year after year.  As you know, most event check-in these days is technology based, so we came up with some suggestions that are mostly old-school, but have the potential to help you stand out when they check in.

Industry – 1, Pirates – 0? Not So Fast Landlubbers!

After we published our recent piece on Pirates and Poachers and the devastating effects they can have on room block bookings (which you can read here) we learned of a recent ruling in the US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against travel agency Tarzango, in which the latter was ordered to pay approximately $750,000 in damages for ‘deceptive advertising practices’ to the US Poultry and Egg Association in relation to room block bookings for its annual trade show and conference, the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE).  In 2017, Tarzango sent unsolicited emails to IPPE exhibitors and attendees, misrepresenting themselves as being an official housing affiliate of the show, when in fact this was not the case.

Pirates and Poachers Killing your Room Blocks?

Previously we’ve explored the best ways to deal with dreaded attrition monsters.  But there’s another sinister threat to your event housing blocks – pirates and poachers.

January 9, 2018, Chicago, IL – Resiada Inc. announces the rollout of version 1.2 of its room block management software for event planners, Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO/CVB) sport organizations and events rights holders.

“The response from Resiada’s early adopters has been invaluable”, says Resiada Managing Director, Jennifer Beatty.  “While they’ve been impressed with the Resiada platform so far, we know there’s always room for improvement. Their feedback has helped guide the efforts of our development team to help make room block setup and management easier”.

Key additions to version 1.2 of Resiada include white labelling, allowing the application to carry an organization or event’s branding.  New API integration capability allows for the seamless flow of data from an event’s registration site to Resiada’s booking system. This means attendees only have to enter their information once rather than once in the registration site and then in the housing system.  “The ultimate goal for Resiada is to make it simple for other registration solutions to integrate and at the same time, improve the user experience.” says Beatty.

Other updates made to the Resiada application include a new array of reports, Paypal Express Checkout has been added as a payment provider option and back office payments now have the option to use a credit card on file for an individual reservation or group payment.   A further time-saving inclusion is a default listing of the most frequently occurring hotel amenities such as on-site restaurant, business center, parking, free wi-fi, etc. Finally, the front end of the site has been optimized to work with screen reading technology.
